WE ARE A WORKING FARM; DRESS APPROPRIATELY:

The terrain of a working farm is uneven, so always watch where you step. Expect dirt or mud (especially after a rainy day) and we recommend wearing all-terrain, closed-toe shoes or boots. There are no trees for shelter from the sun, so we recommend you wear a hat and sunscreen for protection. There will be bees buzzing around and ants doing their ant business. We grow our lavender organically, which means we do not use pesticides. Bugs love us.

WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR DURING YOUR VISIT:

  • SNAKES – We are a farm, and snakes and critters love farms. If you encounter a snake or other critter of any kind, please keep your distance and notify a Twin Creeks Lavender representative and we will safely remove it. In all our UPICK years, we have not had ONE snake sighting, but nature is nature, so expect the unexpected.
  • ANTS – If you see a mound of red dirt, do not touch it, step on it, or disturb it in any way; it belongs to fire ants. They swarm their nests by the thousands when disturbed, and leave a nasty sting. We organically treat the fields for them, but they are pesky little suckers. Wear comfortable all-terrain, closed-toe shoes to safeguard you against ant bites.
  • BEES – There will be bees at all times, a lot of them. They are happy little cuties that help our farm thrive and are an important part of our ecosystem. They hardly ever bother anyone, but be aware and cautious of them, in case you are allergic.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU ARRIVE:

Upon arrival at the main gate, you will be given information and instructions for picking/cutting during a brief orientation. If you’d like a tour we’ll group you with others to show you around. Twin Creeks will provide rubber bands and scissors for you to use to harvest and collect your bouquets. For the safety of our plants, we ask that you do not bring or use your own.

Once you’ve finished picking, please proceed to the barn, where your lavender will be measured and banded for you to pay. All varieties will be marked at the end of each row, plus you will also learn what’s what during your initial orientation. You should be able to tell what you’re picking and what scent you enjoy best! If you are unsure, just ask us, and we’ll be happy to help!

  • SHOP WITH US: We offer more than 100 handmade, lavender-based products for purchase, including bed, bath, body, kids, and pet products in our gorgeous barn! Fan favorites sell out quickly, so think ahead for birthdays, teacher gifts, Father’s Day, Christmas, just-because gifts, or treat yourself!
  • WE DO NOT PROVIDE CHAIRS OR SEATING FOR GUESTS: We do not have chairs or benches for guests to sit on. If you think you’d like to sit, rest and relax before, during, or after picking, please bring your own chairs! Thank you.
  • SORRY NO PETS: As much as we love pets, for your pet’s and everyone’s safety, we ask that you leave yours at home.
  • WE HAVE ONE BATHROOM IN THE BARN: Twin Creeks Lavender is happy to offer the use of our indoor restroom for you to use during your visit, but pretty please keep it clean and tidy. Let us know if the trash can fills up or if you run out of hand soap, etc. We also ask that you respect the fields our family works so hard to steward, so do not, under any circumstance, use our fields as a toilet.
  • OUR TEAM WILL BE TAKING PHOTOS: Please note that our team will be taking photos throughout season to use on our social media posts and to help us tell our story to market future UPICKS. We will always try to remember to ask if it’s ok to take your or your child’s photo and use it, but should you prefer we not include you, please let us know!
  • NO PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY: No professional photography or cameras other than cell phones are allowed during UPICK dates. Selfies or photos for personal use are A-OK. To schedule a private photography session on our farm, please contact us at info@twincreekslavender.com We have already sold out of many dates, so reach out soon if you are interested.
  • NO DRUGS, ALCOHOL, OR SMOKING: Absolutely no drugs, alcohol, or tobacco products of any kind are permitted at any time on our farm during the regularly scheduled UPICK dates. If you violate this law, you will be asked to leave immediately.
  • PLEASE STAY OFF THE NEIGHBORING PROPERTIES: As beautiful as our neighboring pastures may be, please do not cross over the fence.

We are incredibly excited to see you this year!
